Some critics claim that the famous social networking site, Facebook, is itself a copycat.
Since 2004, the founders of the similarly themed ConnectU have been launching legal actions at Facebook. They are claiming that Mark Zuckerberg, the 24-year-old billionaire CEO of Facebook, stole the idea and source code for a university-focused social network while working for ConnectU when he was still a student at Harvard University.
In April 2008, there is an alleged settlement between Zuckerberg and ConnectU's founders under undisclosed terms. However, last June, ConnectU has said to have found a new "smoking gun" proof of Zuckerberg's thievery. Thus, ConnectU is planning of backing out of the settlement.
