National Artist Carlos "Botong" Francisco
continues to inspire succeeding generations of local artists especially
from his hometown in Angono, Rizal. One of the artists that
emulated and had worked with Botong through the years was Salvador
Juban.
In celebration of the Botong's life, work, and influence on the 100th anniversary of his birth, the Yuchengco Museum presents the works of Salvador Juban, Angono artist and Botong Francisco’s longest-serving artist-assistant and protégé. Dubbed as Remembering the Great Master, the exhibit features paintings, murals, sketches, and studies by Juban.
The art exhibit is currently ongoing until Jan. 7, 2013 and can be seen at the Alcove Gallery, 3/F Yuchengco Museum, RCBC Plaza in Ayala Avenue, Makati City. [YGC]
